As part of the Scotiabank’s Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), the position of Senior Data-Loss Monitoring Analyst will work to protect Scotiabank’s assets and networks globally through the Security Operation Center (SOC) while also being a technical leader within the SOC. **Job Responsibilities you are training for**: Data-Loss Prevention Analyst will work directly with the Senior Manager of Data Loss Monitoring to assess and escalate incidents of data loss or exposure. The analyst will also recommend strategic security solutions and security control improvements specific to the enhancing the identification of data security events. - You show interest in conducting investigations into security events, identifying threats and mal-intent towards the organization by means of intrusion detection. - You excel at producing reports, root cause analysis (where applicable) and security tuning recommendations from the findings. - You thrive at responding to suspicious activity found from monitoring internet usage, user activity and other threats to the organization. - You are passionate in facilitating the company’s global security monitoring and threat intelligence programs. - Working on different types of projects (from large complex to simple) is a part of your DNA. - You love to take part in CSOC initiatives as directed to contribute to the strategic direction for security related technologies or other controls that need to be put in place to reduce the threat levels to the company. **We're looking for you** **The skills you have that will amplify you in this role include**: - You possess advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset. - You possess the technical aptitude with desire to learn various networking cyber security concepts and investigative procedures. - You are an independent self-starter with strong analytical and problem resolution skills. - You have familiarity with at least two (2) or more of the following: - Firewalls - Intrusion Detection (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention (IPS) systems - Anti-Virus (AV) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems - Security Information & Event Monitoring (SIEM) - Cloud infrastructure and technologies - Virtual Private Networks - Active Directory - Packet analysis & inspection - Raw security log analysis - Data network equipment (Routers, Switches, etc.) - Routing Protocols (IP, TCP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) - You have the ability to conduct investigations across multiple security technologies and Scotiabank teams, both local and international. - You work well within a team and individually on projects and tasks. - You have excellent communication and presentation skills. - Your completion of the following accreditations will be considered an asset: - GSEC, CompTIA Security+ - CCNA, CompTIA Networking+ - ITIL - Any additional security specific certification (CEH, OSCP, certs from GIAC or SANS, etc.) **Requirements**: - Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit. - Strong oral/written communication skills. - Willing to receive comprehensive training to learn and develop new and/or existing skills to provide client services. “Posted pursuant to Scotiabank’s Special Program under the Employment Equity Act and Canadian Human Rights Act.” - #LI- Hybrid - #Scotiatechnology Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
