We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced **Finance Manager **to join our
Leadership team.

**Job Summary**:

- Responsible for all day-to-day full-cycle accounting functions and operational processes including financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, general ledger, A/P, payroll, and expenses.
- Responsible for the efficient management and operation of the retirement home business office including payroll, accounts payables and receivables, resident business files and admission processes.
- Maintaining compliance with the RHRA and other regulations affecting the efficient operation of the finance/business department of Villa Italia.
- Maintenance of excellent internal controls within the financial system, following the financial policies and procedures.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Excellent acumen in the development, preparation, and analysis of financial systems.
- Preparation of monthly and year-end adjustments and allocations to General

Ledger for approval.
- Preparing annual audit processes, including all financial reports and schedules under GAAP standards.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, and annual audited statements.
- Development of financial reports for Board of Directors.
- Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements and petty cash.
- Preparation of tax filings and remittances and ensure compliance with all requirements including corporate income tax, sales tax, and payroll taxes.
- Preparation of annual payroll reconciliation.
- Assist with the development of our annual budget and provide timely and detailed reporting of variances on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Preparation with annual company audit, and tax filings.
- Handles all queries concerning billings and payments from residents and/ family members.
- Performs payroll duties necessary for the calculation of accurate wages and salaries of all staff.
- Communicate effectively with Senior Management, finance team and external third parties.
- Preparing resident billings on a monthly basis.
- Recording and tracking census and reflecting changes on billings.
- High accuracy with exceptional attention to detail.
- Directly supervises and mentor team members in the finance area.
- Motivate team and lead by example.

**Background and Experience**:
**Education Level**:

- College level diploma in Accounting or Business Finance Management.
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or equivalent work experience.

**Computer Skills**:

- Expert knowledge of Microsoft 2016 and Office 365.

**Professional Experience/Skills**:

- Retirement Living Industry experience (preferred).
- 3 - 5 years successful experience providing financial analysis and reporting, bookkeeping and overall accounting support in a similar work environment.
- Progressive financial management experience in a not-for-profit organization.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff, residents, and their family members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with staff to ensure an effective and efficient working environment.
- Demonstrated ability to assist residents, family members or others with concern and empathy, respecting confidentiality, and privacy, and communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.

**Reports to**:

- Report directly to the Chief Executive Officer

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
