Champ Metal Fabrication is a privately-owned manufacturing company. Our experienced and talented team of employees at our two facilities in Winnipeg, Canada and Jamestown, USA. We specialize in medium-to-high volume fabrication and assembly of common and stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel sheet/tube metal, including laser cutting, forming, welding, assembly and painting.

**Position Summary**

Under the general direction of the Fabrication Supervisor, while demonstrating a commitment to quality, efficiency, and accuracy, the Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts and hardware into the final assembly of parts products.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Ensures proper materials and components are selected, measured, and assembled to fit, install and test prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finish products using hand and power tools per customer and ISO requirements.
- Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
- Inspects assemblies for appropriate quality using clean inspection measurement and testing equipment to identify discrepancies and determine and act as required to remedy the problem.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement and safety.
- Maintains a clean work area and equipment.
- Adheres to all Safety and Health standards.
- Any other duties as assigned.

**Working Relationships**
- Identifies and reports any quality issues, defects and non-conformance to Fabrication Supervisor & Q.A.
- Discusses productivity issues with Fabrication Supervisor and or Lead hand.
- Collaborates with co-workers and other departments.

**Education and Experience**
- Successful completion of Grade 12.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Know and understand the WHMIS labelling system.

**Physical Requirements**
- Standing for extended periods.
- Repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail.
- Hand-eye coordination.
- Able to lift 50lbs.
- Physically able to twist and bend frequently.

**Working Conditions**
- 40-hour workweek, with the potential of Overtime.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- High noise levels.
- Fumes, vapours, and gases.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
