**Director of Child Care**
- Be a champion for quality child care Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House (CCNH), serving the community since 1972, seeks a passionate and experienced Director of Child Care to lead and elevate our exceptional programs. As the Director of Child Care, you will be the driving force behind all aspects of child care operations for 400+ spaces including HR, finances, program development, and resource allocation. You'll bring the early learning framework to life, enriching the lives of children and families._

- **Your Impact as Director of Child Care**:_
- As Director of Child Care, you will be a vital leader, shaping the future of early childhood education at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House. Your key responsibilities will include:_
- _**Leading and Empowering Staff**:_ _You'll foster a positive and productive work environment by guiding all aspects of human resources, from recruitment and onboarding to professional development and performance management. You'll work closely with the Executive Director and Operations Director to ensure progressive HR practices are in place and support Program Coordinators in their HR responsibilities._
- _**Managing Resources for Success**:_ _You will oversee the development and management of the child care budget, and contracts, collaborating with the Executive Director and supporting Program Coordinators in managing program-specific budgets to ensure our programs have the resources they need to thrive._
- _**Championing Quality and Innovation**:_ _You'll be responsible for developing policies and procedures that ensure high-quality child care services aligned with CCNH's mission, values, and BC’s Early Learning Framework. You'll ensure our programs not only meet but exceed expectations, with a focus on inclusion. _
- _**Ensuring Smooth Operations**:_ _Working closely with the Operations Team and Program Coordinators, you will establish and maintain efficient administrative practices covering everything from registration and emergency procedures to health and safety, accounting, and facility management._
- _**Collaborating for Collective Success**:_ _You'll actively participate in the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC Child Care Directors network, contributing to the development and implementation of effective and quality child care across the organization._
- _**Spearheading a New Beginning**:_ _You will play a key role in the launch of our new child care center, leading on all startup functions, including the introduction of infant/toddler and 3-5 group care._
- _**Building a Thriving Community**:_ _As part of the Cedar Cottage Management Team, you'll help bring CCNH's mission and values to life by building strong partnerships with organizations, neighbours, colleagues, and families, creating a true community hub where children and families flourish._
- We're looking for a passionate and experienced leader who embodies the following:_
- _**Proven Leadership in Child Care**:_ _You have 3-5+ years of senior-level experience managing, leading, and ideally opening multiple licensed child care programs for children aged 0-12. You've been there, done that, and are ready to take on a new challenge._
- _**A Solid Educational Foundation**:_ _You hold a post-secondary qualification, preferably a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Your education provides a strong theoretical base for your practical experience._
- _**Expertise in Early Learning**:_ _You possess a deep understanding of BC’s Early Learning Framework and know how to empower staff to effectively implement its principles within our programs._
- _**A Collaborative Spirit**:_ _You thrive in collaborative environments and have a proven track record of working effectively within a multi service organization and externally with partner agencies. _
- _**Exceptional People Skills**:_ _You are a natural leader with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide staff and volunteers. You are a skilled communicator and build strong, positive relationships._
- _**Strategic Management Acumen**:_ _You possess strong program management, development, administrative, HR, and financial management skills, understanding these elements as interconnected parts of a larger system._
- _**Tech Savvy**:_ _You are proficient with computers and related technologies, enabling you to effectively manage information and resources._
