**The Role**
As VP of Finance, you will be an integral part of the senior leadership team and own the finance function. You will be responsible for providing financial stewardship, strategic insight, and operational support for our growth initiatives. You will be expected to build out the finance function, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of internal controls. You will build financial processes and reporting from the ground-up, and work cross functionally to ensure that these processes are executed effectively. The role requires a high level of detail orientation as well as the ability to work effectively with functions, vendors and senior leadership.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Be the single point of contact for finance-related items
- Provide strategic insight as a member of the senior leadership team
- Identify key trends, risks, and opportunities for the business
- Manage, monitor and streamline accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, accounting and financial reporting
- Facilitate payments and invoices for partner vendor relationships
- Facilitate payroll to all employees and contractors
- Monitor the financial performance of the company by ensuring effective cash management and performing monthly cash projections
- Coordinate an effective, efficient and timely month-end close process
- Prepare quarterly financial statements and work with accounting partner to prepare annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards, including preparation of supporting schedules, drafting notes, MD&A and other narratives as required. Manage all aspects of the financial audit
- Manage accounting system, including being an active participant in the enhancement, maintenance and optimization of finance systems strategy and integrations
- Establish and enhance formal processes for internal controls
- Support cross-functional initiatives by assisting in the design and implementation of related financial processes
**Requirements**:
- CPA designation in good standing
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience in Canada
- Strong work ethic and detail orientation
- Interest in the healthcare space is considered an asset
- Experience in a high growth company is considered an asset
