**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Project Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with our kihêw waciston Indigenous Centre. Reporting to the Manager, you will play a pivotal role in helping students obtain the knowledge and qualifications to attend a post-secondary diploma or degree program, while establishing and maintaining safe spaces for students that is reflective of Indigenous culture and knowledge. Utilizing Indigenous based experience and knowledge, you will develop, coordinate, and support culturally appropriate pathway programming, initiatives, and events, while building strong connections with students, faculty, staff and the Indigenous community.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working in conjunction with the School of Continuing Education to administer, update, and enhance the pimâcihowin Foundation Program (pFP) in support of Indigenous students;
- Promoting the pFP program by developing promotional materials and communications, including fact sheets, social media posts, and mail flyers;
- Developing, coordinating, and delivering the pFP orientation for multiple cohorts each term;
- Liaising with students and coordinating with internal departments to address barriers and resolve issues, including escalating issues from Student Advisors related to the program or professors;
- Providing direct support and mentorship to the pFP class and students;
- Fostering relationships with First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and government funders/donors.
- Gathering data through evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the program, provide statistics to funders/donors, and complete institutional reporting;
- Tracking and reviewing the pFP and other initiatives to make recommendations for improvement and increase support and enrollment;
- Conceptualizing, designing, and implementing cultural and educational support and retention programs;
- Organizing and developing programs to engage and educate the broader University community on cultural understanding and issue awareness;
- Establishing positive relationships to assist in removing barriers for students and encourage culturally sensitive programming, policies and events;
- Planning and executing larger-scale student events that are reflective of Indigenous culture, including coordinating event logistics, monitoring budgets, acting as the primary contact, and managing recruitment and organization of speakers, specialist guests, and volunteers;
- Developing in-depth event debrief reports;
- Developing and implementing event promotion strategies, including communication of events and schedules;
- Coordinating the communication of information to internal and external community members and developing appropriate cultural content for a variety of marketing tools and tactics;
- Initiating, cultivating and providing an Indigenous perspective and awareness to academic and service areas within MacEwan that encourages culturally sensitive programming, policies, and events;
- Communicating and collaborating with alumni as a means of supporting Indigenous recruitment;
- Designing and facilitating seminars and presentations tailored to faculty, staff, and students;
