**The Role**:
We are currently searching for a **Health & Safety Specialis**t reporting to the Director, Health & Safety. This is a **Full-Time Permanent** opportunity. The Health & Safety Specialist shall ensure all aspects of health and safety are strategically aligned with regulatory standards and company expectations. This role will work to create, enhance, and introduce methods and controls directed toward maintaining the prevention of accidents and incidents within The Beer Store and Brewers Distributor Ltd.

**Location**:
Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. We offer Remote/Hybrid Flex work with visits into the office on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Recognize and reduce workplace risks and hazards
- Training and orientation of employees, supervisors, and managers in safe work practices
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to identify, mitigate, and/or eliminate Health & Safety risks
- Oversee asbestos management along with mould abatement
- Subject Matter Expert for all JHSC committees
- Work with Disability Management Specialists to ensure locations fulfill return to work reporting obligations
- Ability to respond to Health & Safety emergencies outside of regular business hours
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

**Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:
**Education**:

- Post-secondary education in Health and Safety Legal Requirements or related Health & Safety designation is preferred
- Occupational Health & Safety Certification; CRSP / CRST designation is considered an asset
- Valid First Aid/ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is considered an asset
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence / clear driver's abstract required

**Experience**:

- 3-5 years' of experience in a Health and Safety role is preferred
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment would be a strong asset

**Skills**:

- Thorough understanding of risk assessment and Health & Safety Management Systems
- A general understanding of industrial hygiene, hazardous and noxious substances, air quality, mechanical and electrical hazards, noise, and environmental testing
- Knowledge of expectations surrounding Ontario (WSIB), Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Work Safe BC regulations and Occupational Health & Safety Act(s)
- Excellent time management and problem solving skills in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
