**Job Summary**:
The Finishing Inspector plays a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of concrete work on construction sites. This position is responsible for inspecting freshly placed and cured concrete surfaces, identifying surface or structural defects, verifying compliance with project specifications, and coordinating minor repair work. The Finishing Inspector will work under the guidance of the Lead Inspector and collaborate with construction crews to ensure high-quality outcomes and adherence to safety standards.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
**Inspection and Quality Control**:
- Perform inspections of finished concrete surfaces for cracks, honeycombing, spalling, discoloration, or other defects.
- Assess surface finishes for quality and conformance to drawings and specifications.
- Support the execution of surface tests, such as hardness, smoothness, and alignment.
- Document inspection findings and maintain accurate reports for quality records.
**Repair Coordination**:
- Assist in identifying and documenting repair requirements.
- Monitor minor surface repair work for compliance with established procedures.
- Verify material usage and techniques for surface repair are in line with specifications.
- Recommend reinforcement or additional repair measures as needed.
**Safety and Compliance**:
- Follow all site-specific safety protocols and ensure safe working practices during inspections and repairs.
- Maintain familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Report any non-conformance or safety concerns promptly.
**Other**:
- Use hand tools and measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and angle finders.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Assist in preparing quality documentation and updates for supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox talks, team meetings, and daily safety briefings.
- Support senior team members in concrete pouring, patching, and finishing as needed.
**Education and Experience**:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in concrete finishing or inspection on construction projects.
- Technical diploma or relevant certification in civil, construction, or materials inspection preferred.
- Working knowledge of concrete surface standards and repair techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and proactive attitude.
- Physically able to work in outdoor construction environments and climb ladders or scaffolding.
Pay: Up to $85,000.00 per year
