This position is located at 17631 103 Ave NW, Edmonton AB, T5S 1N8.
The Driving Force Group of Companies is currently hiring a Permanent Full-Time IT Support Technician in our Edmonton location. The IT Support Technician will support and maintain user connections and answer staff inquiries. Follow company guidelines to preserve security and consistency by ensuring staff members are assigned the right level of access assigned by management.

**Responsibilities**:
Network and Connection Maintenance
- Support and maintain server systems - Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and perform operating system updates.
- Support and maintain physical network infrastructure hardware and configurations - Update network switch configurations when necessary, troubleshoot client network connectivity issues and replace/warranty failed network devices.
- Ensure data access availability - Ensure confidential folder access is restricted, ensure proper authorization when granting access, and data purge and recovery when required.
- Manage and maintain service provider connections, ensure site connectivity, and engage service provider support when required.
- Manage and maintain boardroom technology and equipment.
- Manage and maintain video conference services.
- Manage data storage & backups.

User Maintenance and System Security
- Support and maintain end user workstation hardware and software - Troubleshooting hardware/software issues, image new systems as per process and manage and maintain system lifecycle.
- Manage and maintain telephony systems - End user handsets & headsets, update user profile on telephony controllers, and controller operating system call route configurations including security updates or patches to ensure it is up to date and protected from any potential malware.
- Process Help Desk support tickets.
- Process user creation and termination by adding or removing accesses based on their role requirements.
- Create and maintain active directory resources - User objects, computer objects and security groups.
- Ensure the right people have the right level of access by obtaining approval from their manager.

Complete assigned projects
- Assist in implementation of new software & technology.
- Assist in collaborative projects with other departments when required.
- Replace network equipment or replacing servers.
- Investigate innovative new technology.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum two years relevant work experience
- Willingness to learn new skills.
- Post-Secondary education in networking electronics or computer sciences is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Being able to work both in a team and individually.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Customer Service attitude.
- Ability to practice patience with others and in understanding company equipment.
- Fluid with role assignments.
