Light Duty Cleaner

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Light Duty Cleaner (Day Porter) **to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement within a diverse and growing company.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Sweep and mop hard floors, vacuum carpet.
- Wash interior glass, interior walls, perform high dusting when necessary.
- Utilize carpet extractors and spotters to clean tough marks on carpet.
- Sweep and mop stairs, keeping them free of debris and tripping hazards.
- Disinfect and clean stainless-steel surfaces and railings.
- Occasionally clean a mess on a train that has been removed from revenue service.
- Clean and disinfect offices and cubicles.
- Keep garbage bins clean and empty them when they are full, replacing the bags and liners when needed.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, toilets, sinks, shower stalls, floor, replace supplies, etc.
- Plunge toilets when necessary.
- Clean and maintain kitchenettes including microwaves, refrigerators, toasters, sinks, etc.
- Clean and maintain lunchrooms including the floor, tables, chairs, garbage cans, etc.
- Ensure janitorial rooms are kept clean and organized.
- Move delivered supplies from loading dock to the proper janitor rooms.
- Follow Bee-Clean colour-coded mop and cloth protocol, avoiding cross contamination.
- Willing to walk between multiple buildings in any type of weather.
- Assist with scheduled periodic cleaning tasks.
- Report any property or equipment damage to the client.
- Inform management team of any maintenance or cleaning tasks that cannot be completed with standard equipment.
- Any other tasks as requested by management or the client.
- Active maintenance of janitorial equipment, informing management of any equipment that is damaged or unsafe.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable operating cleaning machines.
- Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.

**Other Requirements**:

- Must be at our Skytrain Locations
- Successful applicants will have to undergo the necessary background checks
- Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Relevant experience is preferred but not a must. We will provide all necessary training.
- Wear proper PPE such as safety goggles, gloves, vest, and CSA-Approved footwear which is a requirement for all staff working at Skytrain.
- Ability to pass 50-question multiple choice training course administered by the client in English without the help of any translator.
