Server/bartender Shift Leader

**POSITION OVERVIEW**

As a Server/Shift Leader, you are the face of our business, and ensure that the guest experience consistently meets (or exceeds) expectations. Responsible for food and beverage service, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and aiming for every new customer becoming a regular. The Shift Leader role is suited to applicants with previous service and supervising experience (serving & bartending). This is a casual position with a variable shift schedule, primarily closing (up to 3am), and is offered as a part
- or full-time role. Shift Leaders will be offered training that supports growth into a management role, with skills that transfer to many other industries

Compensation includes hourly wage and SL guarantee, plus gratuities.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY**

The Shift Leader acts as the manager on duty during their assigned shifts, supporting team members to provide a great guest experience, providing a shift summary for location management, and may undertake coaching conversations appropriate to the scope of their role.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Maintains good communication with Servers, Bartenders and the kitchen team, ensuring the customer experience exceeds expectations
- Advises guests of special items, accurately takes drink and food orders, delivers when ready
- Acts in quality control capacity for every item served, assesses customer satisfaction at critical service points (at service, immediately after, following meal)
- Seeks out opportunities to personalize the guest experience, within acceptable professional parameters
- Resolves any issues in line with location processes
- Deputizes for the General Manager, acting in a “manager on duty” capacity

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Focused on customer experience
- At least three years’ prior service experience, two years' bartending experience, and one year at a supervisor / floor lead level
- Highly collaborative
- Adaptable, able to prioritize and make decisions with agility
- Critical thinking skills with an emphasis on cost

**PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Prior experience in a busy bar/restaurant service role
- Knowledge of products (food and beverage) relevant to our brand
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset (not industry specific)

Part-time hours: 24-32 per week
