**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- Manages a number of Transmission Line Relocation (TLR) projects, Transmission Generator

projects and Inter-Utility projects of significant size, diversity, complexity, risk and assumes
responsibility for their successful completion.
- For Transmission Line Relocation (TLR) projects - the Interconnection Manager (IM) to act as

the external clients’ main source of contact and coordinates the needs of the customer to the BC
Hydro project team. For larger projects, the IM, to act as the project initiator, and will be
responsible for the required deliverables under PPM (Project Portfolio Management) guidelines.
The IM is also responsible for obtaining funding from the customer, and all payment reconciliation
activities.
- For Transmission Generator projects - IM is responsible for both new generator interconnection

projects, projects that occur with existing Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and works for
internal BC Hydro generation projects that are applicable. For generator interconnection projects,
the IM will be responsible to coordinate with the customer in providing all required technical data,
study fees, and project study requirements. The IM will work with the client through the project
Lifecyle to successful completion adhering to all terms in the OATT (Open Access Transmission
Tariff). The IM is responsible for the SGIA agreement (Standard Generator Interconnection
Agreement) signed between the customer and BC Hydro.
- Ensure the relevant terms of Tariffs, in particular the OATT (Open Access Transmission Tariff)

and business practices are applied in implementing Transmission Load Interconnection projects.
- Opportunity to work on Inter-Utility agreements between BC Hydro and external power

authorities (Bonneville Power, Fortis, AESO etc).
- Assist with Mandatory Reliability Standard (MRS) requests for Transmission Generator sites/

projects.
- Develops Interconnection project plans, including scope, budget, schedule and project team

responsibilities in order to accomplish project objectives.- Lead and coordinate interaction and discussion with various

interests and requirements for- Establishes standards and process for the implementation of the interconnection project and

monitors progress to ensure the work is carried out in the most cost effective manner using project
- management practices.- Ensures that internal and external resources with appropriate skill sets are provided, assigns

work and provides instructions, advice and technical leadership and guidance to project staff;
- reviews work in progress and assesses completed work for accuracy, required results and quality
- assurance.- Manages implementation of the project within agreed upon scope, timeline and budget.
- Develops and oversees the implementation of risk mitigation and management plans, and

customer compensation measures within the terms of Tariffs.- Investigates and analyses unusual problems, evaluates risks and applies innovative solutions.
- Develops and executes strategies to maximize synergies across multiple projects which are

related or have similar issues.- Seeks new and unique technology, processes and products that will improve the delivery of

current and future interconnection projects.- Leads strategic initiatives to facilitate the delivery of work or improve processes and procedures

related to the interconnection projects.- Develops and/or accepts a wide variety of technical and process documents and maintains

technical standards and process charts for area of expertise.- Develops and presents business cases, briefing notes, prepares project reports and, at

completion, finalizes all financial transactions and completes final reports.- Represents

interconnection or increases in existing transmission customer loads.- Consults and collaborates with other internal BC Hydro departments such as Customer Service,

Project Delivery, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Planning, and Engineering to ensure the ongoing
- efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery of interconnection service to customers.**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as engine
