The Heights at Mount View, a Baptist Housing Long Term Care Community in Victoria, BC, requires a permanent full-time Therapy Assistant to join our team and serve our Residents.

The Therapy Assistant is responsible for supporting and supervising Resident Therapy Programs, promoting team education as required, and is responsible for regular monitoring of medical and mobility equipment. Reporting to the Physical and Occupational Therapists, the Therapy Assistant is committed to a culture of safety for our Residents and Team Members. In collaboration with a dynamic Team, the Therapy Assistant follows a Wellness Model of care that builds a holistic sense of wellness and fulfillment for our Residents.

As an ambassador of Baptist Housing, you have exceptional interpersonal skills and love working with people. You have a positive, “can do” attitude, the ability to foster and maintain relationships, and model our values in all interactions. You must have a background in Rehabilitation Therapy and the ability to work with autonomy and as a committed member of a team. You are able to set workload priorities and multi-task, solve problems, practice time management, demonstrate organization, and physically manage the lifting duties of the position.

A Therapist/Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma and a minimum of 1 year experience in rehabilitation or recreation therapy is preferred. A combination of experience and related education may be considered. Knowledge of dementia and normal aging processes is an asset.

This position is a full time on-site position Monday to Friday.
