The MPT-Vic cohort, located at the University of Victoria will welcome students starting Fall 2024. The incumbent reports to the Health Professional Programs Manager and provides classroom and administrative support for the MPT program. This position is responsible for the daily organization of teaching spaces including organizing and maintaining equipment and provides a high level of customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external instructors. To fulfill the requirements of this position the incumbent will be required to have early start times based on class schedules. Occasional regional and provincial travel may be required. The physical requirements of this position include assembly of equipment and/or moving of equipment (under 35 lbs) for the set-up of labs and ongoing educational sessions. This position is located off-campus at the Vancouver Island Technology Park. - Job Requirements**Experience**: This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 3 years of experience working within a comparable environment. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**: - Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment. - Ability to prioritize and manage time/tasks with attention to detail. - Ability to work independently, within a team environment and with cross-functional, inter-institutional teams. - Demonstrated customer service, independent problem-solving and organizational skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style for different audiences and situations. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. - Comfortable learning new technologies e.g. audiovisual equipment and distributed teaching tools such as Zoom. - Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information. - Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, equipment and software operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. - Experience with event planning and coordination is an asset. - Familiarity with computers, audiovisual hardware and software, and Physical Therapy equipment is an asset. - Experience in a medical setting and knowledge of medical terminology is an asset. **Specialized Knowledge/Education**: Secondary school diploma or equivalent. **Territory Acknowledgement**:We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory the university stands, and the Lək̓ʷəŋən and WSÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. **What UVic Offers**:To learn more click here.
