Trailer Technician

We are currently seeking 2 Full-Time Truck Mechanics/Technicians to assist us
- Perform effective preventative maintenance services on heavy duty trailers - Schedule 1 maintenance.
- Perform Truck inspections and diagnosis in addition to CRY Sheet submissions.
- Interpreting work orders, CRY Sheets, and technical manuals
- Mentor, develop, and support apprentices for future growth and development.
- Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain open communication with the Shop Foreman, Shop staff, Truck Drivers, and Dispatch if required.
- Perform APU installations, rebuilds, and maintenance.
- Perform trailer tire inspections and balancing.
- Perform pre-trip inspections.
- Occasionally load and unload truck trailers.
- Maintain communication with the Shop Hand and Parts Person/Shop Hand to ensure effective shop/yard maintenance and supply ordering.
- Maintain Parts Room etiquette to maintain functionality in accordance with the Parts Person/Shop Hand process.
- Assist in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical & electrical failures
- Complete required high-quality documentation, such as service work orders
- Maintain a clean and functional work environment; toolbox maintenance, work area cleanliness.
- Always maintain a Safety Mindset and contribute to a Positive Workplace Culture.
- Perform additional AD Hoc tasks as required.

**Experience**
- Qualified Heavy Duty Mechanic Minimum Level 2 Journeyman Apprentice or inter-provincial Red Seal Journeyman Apprentice.
- Product and technical knowledge with knowledge of highway transport trailers.
- Active CVIP License is considered an asset.
- Ability to move trucks and trailers within the shop/yard.
- Knowledge of Electrical and Hydraulic suspension.
- Have the ability to deal with large volumes of work and stressful situations
- Engine diagnostics experience
- Qualified Scissorlift, Forklift, and Skid Steer is considered an asset but not required. Training is provided
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in the heavy duty trailer industry is required
- Safety and quality minded attitude
- Class 1 License
- Must have reliable transportation to work.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual
- Knowledge of the truck equipment industry is an asset

- Sound understanding and interpretation of safety regulations, safe work practices and work procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stress management and time management skills
- Perform duties in inclement weather, with possible exposure to severe weather conditions.
- Perform Trailer inspection as requested by the Shop Foreman

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $30.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
