Summer Student Farm Hand: Landscaping, Blueberry Farm Work, Light Chicken Barn Duties

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and beautify the farm’s landscaping, including trimming, weeding, and mowing.
- Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees around the farm.
- Assist with mulching, soil preparation, and erosion control.
- Keep pathways, driveways, and work areas clear and organized.
- Using powered lawn tools such as riding lawn mowers, weed trimmers and leaf blowers.
- Assist with pruning and weeding in the blueberry fields as needed.
- Manage irrigation systems and ensure proper watering of plants.
- Participate in harvesting or packaging during peak seasons.
- Clean and maintain the chicken barn, ensuring it remains a safe and sanitary environment.
- Monitor chicken health.
- Replenish feed and water supplies.
- Assist with minor repairs or maintenance in the barn as required.
- Previous landscaping or farm experience is an asset but not required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 per week
