**Who We Are**
Guiding Star Mortgage Group powered by DLC is a national mortgage brokerage company affiliated with Coldwell Banker Canada that has almost 3,000 real estate agents and 160 offices across the country.
**The Role**
Leading a team of between 50-100 mortgage originators, we are seeking an experienced sales leader to fill our VP, Mortgage Sales position for our Burlington, Ontario corporate office.
**Brokerage Operations**:
- Mortgage agent set up, agent support, integration of brokerage support tools and resources, collaboration on communications and marketing including:
- Report to CEO of Guiding Star Mortgage Group.
- Building a strong team by recruiting, training, and motivating them to succeed.
- Being an executive driver, business builder, and mentor.
- Further develop and grow our innovative and forward-thinking broker services through partnerships across Canada.
- Lead research and development of new leadership programs.
- You will ensure an adequate level of supervision for the brokers, and other persons employed by the Guiding Star Mortgage Group.
**Compliance** - From time to time support our Broker of Record with Review of agent files, maintaining provincial regulator standards for brokerage and agent operations.
**Lender Relationships** - Lender set ups, maintenance of lender portfolios and funding ratio performance, file escalations, supporting agents with file placement etc.
**What you will need**:
- A minimum of 5 year’s experience in the Canadian mortgage broker channel (licensed in one or more provinces is an asset).
- Proficient in maintaining excellent, supportive partner relationships
- A desire to see our business and individual mortgage broker success.
- A positive attitude, strong customer support focus and eager to assist our brokers with the support they need.
- High capacity for demanding workload.
- Enthusiastic, positive, charismatic personality with the passion to help others learn and succeed, with a solid base of Canadian mortgage underwriting experience.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, and strong communication skills.
- Inspiring, self-starter, hands-on leader and influencer with a can-do personality.
- Strong knowledge of the finance field, mortgages, and banking.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal, presentation and computer (MS Office) skills.
- Prepare, coordinate and present sales presentations and proposals to new and existing brokers and agents.
- Attend and promote Guiding Star’s Mortgage Groups products at industry Trade Shows, Conferences, and Promotional Events.
- Accountable for achieving and reporting sales activity targets for the regions to CEO.
- Ensuring all direct reports have established annual objectives that are aligned with business plans and tracking individual performance against objectives.
- Regularly scheduling one-on-one coaching sessions with brokers to recognize success, help overcome obstacles and set focus thereby ensuring continued improvement of knowledge and success.
- Fostering and developing a strong, positive team environment, driving employee empowerment, innovation and a high degree of engagement among direct and indirect reports.
**Compensation Package**:
- Base salary of $125,000.00
