Our Indoor Painter will report to their supervisor daily; Their responsibilities will include: Examining/preparing surfaces for painting, making necessary repairs to dents/holes on the surface and ensuring the painting project is completed on time.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Make necessary on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
- Prepare surfaces for painting (including scraping/sanding, filling, and repairing any cracks or dents with appropriate materials).
- Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture requested.
- Clean and maintain painting/coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment.
- Perform all duties per the current Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act and our company’s SWOP/ Safe work policies.
- Sundry duties as assigned.
**Requirements/Skills**:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
- Must have a minimum of 2+ years of proven industry-based experience.
- CSA-certified steel-toed footwear.
- Current WHMIS Certification.
- Current Fall arrest certification.
- Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
- Conscientious with great attention to detail.
- Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (including extreme cold, heat and inclimate weather.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- PPE equipment will be provided.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Must be able to do the following movements during extended periods of time: Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling.
- Must be able to work both inside the warehouse and outside in all weather conditions (including extreme cold, heat, and inclimate weather)
