Program Instructor

**Program Instructor - Inclusion (C.A.R.E)**

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for dynamic, highly motivated and energetic individuals to join the growing Leisure Services division to directly oversee the pre-school programs at the Leisure Centre. Reporting to the Inclusion Coordinator, the Program Instructor - Inclusion (C.A.R.E) provides direct program leadership, supervision and instruction for participants.

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for dynamic, highly motivated and energetic individuals to join the growing Leisure Services division to directly oversee the pre-school programs at the Leisure Centre. Reporting to the Inclusion Coordinator, the Program Instructor - Inclusion (C.A.R.E) provides direct program leadership, supervision and instruction for participants.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Research and plan activities for C.A.R.E. Club (Adapted Day Program) to meet the needs of participants and promote engagement and development of life skills.
- Develop a variety of activities that target the needs of the participants related to different themes.
- Plan special events for participants who attend the program.
- Actively participate and interact with participants and their support people throughout the program to encourage integration into the drop-in program.
- Attend to program participants’ needs as related to the program.
- Support C.A.R.E. Club programming operations and provide behaviour management support as needed to participants with disabilities during program time. (Support staff will always be present, support them as needed).
- Actively participate, engage, assist participants in program activities, adapt support needs dependent on the participants/groups attending.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Responsible for all aspects of the program including planning, supervision, setup/cleanup, safety and implementation.
- Complete accident/ incident reporting and program statistics.

**Key Competencies and Qualifications**
- Possess Standard First Aid, and CPR Level C certification.
- Preference given to those with post secondary education in Social Work, Behaviour Science, Studies Education, Educational Assistant programs, Recreation/Therapeutic Recreation, or related discipline.
- Behavioural Management Strategies certification or equivalent is an asset
- At least one (1) year of experience in a recreation field and/or in working with individuals with exceptionalities.
- Effective problem solving skills and conflict management skills are also required.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.

This position offers an hourly rate of $21.77 to $26.46 (2025 rates).
