Dance Teacher

**Job Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Teach dance techniques and choreography to students of varying skill levels.
- Develop engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and student interests.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and self-expression.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Organize and participate in performances, and other events to showcase student achievements.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with other instructors to enhance the overall dance program.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and class activities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience teaching group tap classes
- Willingness to teach a variety of ages & levels
- Certification from a teaching association (ex P.A.E.C, I.S.T.D, C.D.T.A) or relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred
- Minimum of 2 references from former teachers or students
- Professional performance experience is an asset
- Teachers will be required to provide/obtain a current vulnerable sector policebackground check

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 11 per week
