**Job Type: Part time between 15hrs **per week**

**Evenings during the week and weekends, must be flexible**

The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association exists to support and encourage foster families through education and advocacy, helping create healthy homes, positive environments, and brighter futures for children and youth in care across the province. We are currently seeking a part time 1-1 Childcare Worker to support a Foster Home.

This diverse position performs many tasks that include, but are not limited to childcare, or activities outside the home.

The successful applicant will be flexible in order to successfully meet the changing demands in the workplace. The chosen applicant will also be confident, self-motivated and an individual who demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and who is courteous and attentive to detail.

Additionally, you will be a team player that is willing to help out as needed. You will be open and accepting of change and be open to continuous learning opportunities.

**Responsibilities**
- 1-1 support towards the child
- Promote the child or youth through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others
- Organize and participate in recreational activities including outside play or structured developmental activities in the community
- Involve the child or youth on deciding how to spend time together
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with the community service providers working with the child or youth
- Support the emotional and social development of children and youth

**Qualifications**:

- Applicants will have their ECE or Youth Care Worker certification.
- Experience working in the field of childcare/early childhood development, preference will be given to applicants who have training, skills and/or experience working with children with a range of developmental delays and diverse challenges
- Demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with children, supervisors, and partnering agencies and maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Criminal records Check (Within 3 Months)
