**Reports To**: Global Payroll Manager

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage full oversight of the Canadian payroll process, including provinces such as Quebec and Ontario, working closely with outsourced providers to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Coordinate US payroll activities, ensuring compliance with US benefits, including 401k plans.
- Validate and confirm payroll amounts to authorize payments, maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Oversee pension and benefits coordination for Canadian employees and 401k management for US employees, ensuring accuracy in contributions and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform journal entries and postings related to payroll, ensuring accuracy in the company's financial records.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain payroll documentation and ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local laws in both Canada and the US.
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries and resolutions, providing exceptional service and support to employees and management.
- Work collaboratively with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll related issues and improve processes.
- Monitor changes in regulations or compliance requirements related to payroll and implement necessary adjustments.
- Prepare reports and provide insights on payroll trends, discrepancies, and projections as needed for management.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in payroll management, particularly with Canadian and US payroll processes.
- Strong understanding of Quebec and Ontario payroll regulations, US payroll practices, including 401k plans.
- Proficiency with payroll software and experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
- Competency in journal postings and financial reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex payroll information clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements and ability to keep abreast of changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or similar certification is an asset.
