Male Personal Support Worker (Independent Contractor)

**Job Summary**
Relieve-Me Home Support Services is currently seeking a **male Personal Support Worker (PSW)** to provide in-home care to a male client in the Durham Region who is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s/dementia. The **gender requirement** is based on the personal care needs and comfort of the client and is considered a bona fide occupational requirement.

This role is ideal for compassionate, dependable professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality, client-focused care.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide personal care: bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing
- Deliver dementia-informed care with empathy and patience
- Support mobility and transfers, including assistive device use
- Assist with meal prep and feeding
- Light housekeeping and laundry duties
- Monitor and document changes in health or behavior
- Offer companionship and support through meaningful engagement

**Qualifications**
- Certified PSW (Ontario-recognized program)
- Experience with dementia/Alzheimer’s clients preferred
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check (within 6 months)
- Current immunizations, including COVID-19
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to work independently as a contractor
- Access to reliable transportation within Durham Region
- Proof of liability insurance (minimum $2M recommended)
