Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Manager, Technical Services, this position is responsible for the development and delivery of the maintenance training curriculum in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and standards, company operations manuals, Aviation Occupational Health and Safety (AOSH) regulations, and company policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Design and develop training materials including course manuals, outlines, reference material, hand-outs, certificates, and training feedback forms.
- Evaluate training materials and the effectiveness of instructional design, programs, and processes.
- Make and implement recommendations for improvement to keep curriculum current and ensure accuracy of content.
- Responsible for scheduling and facility preparation for the delivery of training and associated reporting following completion.
- Ensure effective training that results in employees to meet and exceed acceptable standards of performance.
- Deliver training using progressive adult education techniques, including the use of various training methodologies.
- Identify and adjust to appropriate methods of delivery in response to various individual and group learning styles.
- Monitor, evaluate and track progress of employees.
- Maintain training schedules, records, and databases.
- Support revisions and processing of all maintenance-related training documents, and manuals, including timely submission of documentation to Transport Canada.
- Deliver training on light duty equipment including forklift and tugs, ensuring operators are trained and competent in the safe and efficient operations of the equipment.

General Responsibilities
- Act as a designated safety management system (SMS) investigator.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the company's mission, vision, and values.
- Foster a team-based environment through collaborative working relationships.
- Ensure optimal communication with all employees and internal partners.
- Maintain current knowledge of all Transport Canada regulations and policies.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and safety programs to promote an incident and injury free culture.

**Qualifications**:
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position require completion of postgraduate training in curriculum design, facilitation, and adult-focused instructional techniques with a minimum of three years' experience. A diploma from a recognized educational institution in aircraft maintenance is considered an asset. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities include:

- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional classroom and self-directed learning curricula.
- Proven experience in developing and designing curricula for adult learners.
- Ability to hold and maintain a class 5 valid driver's license.
- Ability to deliver quality customer service and support.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Sound problem solving, decision-making, analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects and tasks and execute effectively and in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Hands-on, self-motivated, and demonstrated positive, can-do attitude, along with willingness to learn.
- Ability to support, strengthen and enhance safety initiatives.
