Lead Quality & Audit Coordinator (6-Month Contract → Option to Go Full-Time)

About the Role

We’re hiring a hands-on Lead Quality & Audit Coordinator to drive Foothills Steel through upcoming ISO 9001 and ABSA AQP audits. You’ll lead audit readiness, coordinate with engineering, QC, and shop teams, and ensure complete, compliant audit packages for both ISO and ABSA.

What You’ll Do
- Own the audit plan and timeline for ISO 9001 and ABSA (AQP) audits.
- Build and verify audit packages: ABSA/ISO documentation, ITPs, MTRs, NDE/PWHT records, calibration logs, training matrix, AB-forms.
- Run internal audits and close corrective actions; keep procedures and templates current.
- Coordinate pre-audit reviews, manage findings, and drive timely remediation.
- Partner with engineers, QC, and shop leads to keep documentation aligned with code and client requirements.
- Liaise with ABSA SCOs and ISO auditors.

What You Bring
- 5+ years in quality/auditing within pressure equipment, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ABSA programs, CSA B51, and ASME B31.1/B31.3.
- Experience preparing and reviewing ABSA documentation (e.g., AB-31/AB-41/AB-81/AB-83), ITPs, NDE/PWHT packages, and calibration records.
- Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (Lead Auditor an asset).
- Excellent documentation control, follow-through, and cross-functional coordination.

Contract & Compensation
- 6-month contract starting from $40/hr (commensurate with experience; higher for senior qualifications).
- Standard 40-hour workweek; overtime only by prior approval.
- Conversion option to permanent full-time at the end of the contract based on performance and business need.

Nice to Have
- Prior success leading an ABSA/ISO audit to closure.
- Experience in welding/pressure piping environments and with shop floor collaboration.
- Continuous improvement mindset (NCR/CAR/PAR, root-cause methods).
