**Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader**

Following a successful third year, we are aggressively seeking and acquiring new clients to grow our roster of commercial and residential stratas, single dwelling residential contracts, hard scape installations and moving into new areas of service including landscape lighting, irrigation and rainwater catchment systems.

**Summary**:
The Grounds Maintenance Level 1 Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in order to accomplish the timely completion service contracts. These will include commercial and residential stratas, and residential properties. While we are building our team, you may also be required to help out on installation and hardscape job sites.
The grounds maintenance Level 1 Technician will be required to work on a crew and operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specific job tasks.

**Area of Operation**:
Our client base ranges from the west side of Vancouver to Burnaby and the North Shore.

**Compensation**:
$20 - $25 per hour (depending on experience)

**Job Duties**:

- Help with the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers, equipment and materials required to complete daily objectives
- Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, plant trees, perennials, bulbs and annuals, lawn care duties as required
- Move and install soil, mulch, plants and other materials to assist with the construction of landscapes as well as regular maintenance
- Spray areas to control insects and/or weeds (applicator ticket, an asset)
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to; lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, chain saws, and all other requisite hand tools
- Observe proper safety procedures, quality, and productivity
- Assist in other job-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance
- uphold standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, on job sites, and shop/yard areas
- Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that you are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the landscape industry
- Valid driver’s license and safe/clean driving record an asset
- Effective communication skills - must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs.
- Time management skills, punctuality
- Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks

**Work Conditions**:

- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire shift
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Requires good manual dexterity
- Excellent stamina is required
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various conditions
- Flexible working hours in other job-related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
