Working Foreman Fibre Splicers - Outside Plant Technicians. We are looking for our Brampton location.
Applicants must be able to provide;
The union foreman will lead the fibre splicing crew including on telecom construction projects.
FusionTech's main office is in Brampton, Ontario but work can be anywhere construction projects are located.
The Foreman is responsible to:
1. Provide direction, and oversee fibre splicing crews. Also required to work as a splicer in the field as required.
- Skilled in outside plant fibre splicing (3 years telecommunications splicing experience)
- Demonstrated success leading a team of outside plant fibre splicers
- Experience in multi-dwelling units is an asset
- Must be able to work nights when required
- Must be able to work on-call schedule when required (approx 3X per year)
- Must be able to work up to 10 hour shifts per day plus travel time
- A strong commitment to safety
- Good work ethic
- Pass a criminal record check
- A valid G driver’s license in good standing
- Experience to safely lift heavy objects and tools to perform a variety of tasks
- Experience carrying and climbing an extension ladder
- Experience working in confined spaces
- Good organization skills
- Work well individually and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours and locations
- Willingness to Travel as required
- Willingness to work in all types of weather conditions
- Must be willing to join Liuna Union Local 183
