**The Role**: **Who we’re looking for** Shell Canada is looking to fill a Terminal Operator position. This position will be based at the Hamilton, Ontario Terminal and will also support the Keele Toronto Terminal. - Oversee daily operation of terminal facilities including loading rack and tank farm activities - Management of product receipts and shipments via pipeline and truck - Perform daily inspections and execute routine maintenance as per global and local Terminal Operating standards - Comply and enforce HSSE standards and procedures including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for personnel, drivers and contractors - Manage Permit to work system including confined space entry, control of electrostatic hazards and working at heights, including task observations - Conduct product testing and quality control for pipeline and tanks - Daily reconciliation of product inventories including transaction and documentation of product movements and analysis of loss/gain variances - Maintain Terminal Management System database for customers, products and equipment - Troubleshoot and resolve computer software/hardware issues - Liaison with internal/external stakeholders as required to maximize terminal reliability - Ensure compliance with all local, provincial and federal requirements and regulations **Translated Company Description **What types of knowledge, skills and abilities are needed?** - Must possess a Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent) - College certificate/diploma/degree in chemical process engineering, mechanical, civil or equivalent is considered an asset - Must reside within the area or willing to relocate - Willing to work days, nights, weekends, holidays - Must be willing to work a rotating shift - Mechanical competencies/aptitude required, journey-level certification/ TSSA PMH and PM3 an asset - Must be a self-starter and dedicated team member - Ability to perform with a minimum of supervision - Ability to prioritize and multi-task to respond to time constraints/deadlines - Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills - Experience in an industrial environment - Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather - Must be willing and able to climb tanks, climb ladders, walk up and down stairs and work at heights - Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on call to respond to emergencies - Must be willing to participate on an emergency response team - Using safe lifting techniques, must be able to lift 20 kg from ground to waist level - Willing to comply with Shell's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures - Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment - Willingness/Ability to support both the Keele Toronto Terminal and Hamilton Terminal (including the commuting to the different work locations) **About us.** Shell offers an exceptional benefits program that includes competitive savings, retirement, and healthcare plans that you can customize to meet your individual needs.
