Early Childhood Educator (Full-Time)
Edmonton, AB (T5H 2Z8)
Job Summary
This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and grow while supporting their overall development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and development
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to build strong relationships
- Educate children through play-based learning activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Monitor and assess children’s progress and provide feedback to parents and guardians
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational programs and share best practices
- Utilize technology to document children’s progress and communicate with families Requirements Education & Certification
- Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Childcare certification or licensing as required by provincial regulations( Level 3) Experience
- 1-2 years of experience working in a licensed childcare centre
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a childcare or educational environment (required) Knowledge
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and learning frameworks
- Familiarity with Alberta childcare licensing requirements and regulations
- Knowledge of curriculum implementation and age-appropriate programming
- Basic understanding of budgeting and resource management in a childcare setting Skills:
- Strong leadership and team support abilities
- Excellent communication skills when engaging with children, families, and staff
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Conflict resolution and proactive problem-solving skills Additional Requirements
- Valid Police Clearance and background check (required)
- Flexibility to work operational hours and attend occasional meetings or events outside regular hours Compensation

: Full-time Pay: $16.00
- $18.00 per hour Work Location: In person Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work
