**Position Title: Renewable Fuels Scheduler**
**Team and Location: STaR - Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB**
**Minimum Starting Salary from: $ 95,000 /year**
**Position Summary**:
The primary focus of this position is to manage the ratable supply and logistics of Renewable fuels to/from the Burnaby refinery. These activities vary from managing day-to-day logistic challenges associated with various products (Bio Diesel, Canola & Tallow, Tall Oil and Renewable Naphtha) to the commercialization of new fuels being processed as part of Burnaby’s advancing renewable fuels effort to supporting longer term improvements aimed at driving increased margin and decreasing operating costs. This position will also provide support for LPG logistics for the facility and cover for other Supply based jobs.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Renewable Scheduling Activities
- Manage day-to-day renewable fuels scheduling activities, ensuring the successful movement of bio diesel, canola, tallow, tall oil and renewable naphtha in and out of the facility
- Egress modes are rail, truck and transload logistics and coordination of marine
- Coordinate with Elbow River schedulers to optimize rail fleet and ensure products do not run out
- Work with Commercial Feedstock team to develop logistics plans and schedules for receiving new renewable products at the refinery; co-lead the development of essential work processes and tools to ensure sustainable plans are built
- Participate in weekly and monthly cross functional team meetings with Supply, Trading and Planning to aid in the development of strong supply plans across all products
- Work with Supply and Operations to come up with viable solutions for both planned and unplanned turnarounds impacting various products/feedstocks
- Manage relationship with CP Rail Superintendents, Account Manager and Operations Manager
- Utilize existing Power BI dashboard to understand demurrage costs and drive OpEx reductions and other continuous improvement efforts
Annual Renewable Contracts
- Assist with the annual development of key renewable contracts including the purchases of all products in the portfolio, summer storage opportunities and contract optimization
Vacation Coverage
- Provide vacation coverage to other Refinery Supply roles, including the refinery LPG Scheduler (Butane, C3, IC8, etc.) and Marine scheduler
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Demonstrated commitment to personal and process safety
- 3+ years’ experience working in a commercially intense supply/operation work environment
- Organizational and prioritization skills - a demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage decisions with short deadlines and mínimal supervision
- Ability to work on own initiative to develop and implement innovative solutions to business and logistics-based challenges
- Track record of leading cross functional teams throughout different business units
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A willingness to work extended hours on evenings and weekends as needed
- Passion for using technology and analytics to drive continuous improvements within the business
