Roechling Industrial Orangeville, Ontario manufacturing facility has an immediate opening in our Safety Department for a:
**HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR (18 month contract)**

The Health and Safety Coordinator assists with all aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety programs and ensures compliance with accepted safety standards and applicable legislation.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responds to plant safety concerns and provides guidance and counseling
- Coordinates accident/incident investigations and provides effective follow-up for corrective actions
- Conducts regular workplace inspections/audits and ensures compliance with all legal requirements
- Maintains the WHMIS/GHS program and ensures accuracy of chemical inventory, maintains SDS
- Conducts H&S formal company employee onboarding
- Liaises with other departments (e.g. Maintenance, Engineering) to ensure safety compliance on new equipment and processes
- Develops and maintains documents, IRS (Policies and Procedures, On-Line Manual)
- Responsible for H&S communications & data reporting - prepare communications, input data, and data reporting.
- Administration of claims management, return to work programs including WSIB, STD, LTD
- Conduct Physical Demands Analysis when required
- Conducts and facilitates H&S training
- Assessment of site specific requirements which include emergency protocols, safe work plans and procedures and regulatory requirements, hygiene monitoring
- Maintains safety supplies, first aid kits, and coordinates the introduction of new safety supplies

**Key Requirements**:

- College diploma/program in Occupational Health and Safety Management an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years directly related occupational health and safety experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Working knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision with well-developed organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience in developing policies, procedures, safety talks; conducting hazard assessments and workplace inspections in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be available to support all shifts including office and shop floor
- Regular presence on the manufacturing shop floor is a requirement.

Schedule:

- 8-hour shifts - 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$62,400.00 per year
