**Job Description**:
Salary Range: $48.71 - 57.99

The Spiritual Care Coordinator leads the development, implementation and evaluation of spiritual care services at CMH. Through a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) lens this is achieved by providing direct delivery of spiritual care to individuals and groups; through knowledge and linkages with community spiritual providers of various faiths/denominations; by supporting and debriefing with staff/physicians; and in setting up an on-call schedule of spiritual care volunteers to facilitate 24/7 access to spiritual care services. The Spiritual Care Coordinator is a resource for staff, physicians and volunteers and often works closely with the Bioethicst to support decision making. Supporting the strategic pillars of Advancing Health Equity and Elevating Partnerships in Care, the Spiritual Care Coordinator actively promotes human-centred care delivery through a DEI lens.

**Accountabilities**:

- Direct provision of Spiritual Care to individual patients and their families. These could be during times of trauma/crisis; at, or leading up to, end-of-life; leading up to, during, or after, (MAiD) Medical Assistance in Dying; at, or after, a Code situation; or simply during a hospital admission. These interactions could involve topics such as hope, meaning, fears and anxiety and at times, could require traversing diverse family dynamics.
- Create, cultivate and maintain a roster of community spiritual care volunteers to provide 24/7 access to spiritual care services. This will involve referrals to spiritual support of choice for patients.
- Work closely with the Bioeticst, Social Workers and broader healthcare team to assist staff, physicians, patients and their families through decision making
- Deliver seasonal services and rituals, memorial services and other ad hoc services (i.e. weddings)
- Offer workplace spirituality to staff by attending new staff orientation, providing individual support, attending staff huddles, and discussing topics such as vicarious trauma and self-care
- Advance the strategic pillar of Advance Health Equity by actively seeking out, highlighting and participating in improvements to advance DEI and Indigenous reconciliation efforts
- Supports Patient Experience Plan to enhance and elevate partnerships in care

**Qualifications**
- Specialist under CASC (Canadian Association for Spiritual Care) or equivalent is required
- Certified Educator/Supervisor under (CASC) and willing to train students is an asset
- Maintaining an authentic personal spiritual journey
- Experience offering Crisis and Trauma intervention and support is required
- Experience supporting individuals and families through the continuum of MAiD (decision, procedure, post debrief) is required
- Experience working with individuals with a wide range of clinical diagnoses and points in their health journey (new diagnosis, chronic management, palliative) is an required
- Experience offering Spiritual Care and support regarding hopes, fears, struggles, joys, heartache, loss, grief, to wide range of faiths and denominations both 1:1 and in group settings is required
- Experience in acute care setting is an asset
- Demonstrated experience cultivating relationships with wide range of community faith leaders to enhance service offering and learning is required
- Demonstrated experience of advancing Indigenous reconciliation efforts at an organizational and individual level is an asset
- Ability to actively promote CMH values of: caring, collaborative, innovative, respect and accountability
- The successful external applicant is required to provide the applicable criminal record check, as requested by Human Resources, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation. Valid criminal record checks are in original format and dated with two months from date of conditional offer from CMH._
