**Responsibilities**:
What you’ll be doing as an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist
This role is responsible for providing financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate collections of accounts. This position reports to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. The role is best suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, is highly organized and thrives with high volume, has had previous experience with restoration and or home insurance. Responsible for notifying customers of delinquent accounts to solicit payments. What you’ll be doing as an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationship with clients
- Collaborates with the multiple teams and departments to address issues in ensuring timely collections
- Organizes a recovery system and initiate collection efforts
- Ensures compliance with company billing and collection policies
- Collects and reports on activities as per established accounting guidelines.
- Reconciles customer accounts
- Providing customer invoice and statements upon request, and establishing a monthly schedule sending to a pre-determined list of clients/accounts
- Liaises with clients to investigate and resolve client queries
- Ensure adjustments to accounts are submitted for approval and processed in a timely and accurate manner
- Reviews reports with each Project Management team and works with team to contact clients/accounts for outstanding invoices
- Monitors customer account activity for non payments, delayed payments and other irregularities and informs the AR Supervisor as required
- Maintains accurate accounts receivable customer files
- Follow ups, collects, and allocates payment, including cheques, EFT, wires, and E-transfers, credit cards as required
- These are representative duties and responsibilities but are not all encompassing and may change from time to time
You have
- A minimum of 2+ years of Accounts Receivable collections experience
- Must have experience in the construction, insurance or restorations industry
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable workflows
- Experience working with Dynamics/NAV is considered an asset
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel including pivot tables).
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with ability to adjust and respond professionally to changing priorities and ad-hoc issues.
- Proven ability to multi-task, handle high volumes, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve as well as communicate and follow-up in a professional manner.
