Job Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible to define overall hard rock quality and operational excellence strategy as it relates to the hard rock operations and products, as well as, design of regional hard rock operations, which will be aligned with realities of market and customer’s expectations and company business needs. In conjunction with hard rock department leaders, the Quality Manager will define and implement short, medium and long-term actions to improve, operating efficiency, quality and productivity in the entire value chain, to improve customer satisfaction and reduce operating costs. They will also support the business in leading and executing opex priorities and plans and developing a sustainable continuous improvement culture, and develop, maintain, promote, and oversee compliance of the company quality system and opex programs.
Key Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute quality processes across all functions within the hard rock division to drive continuous improvement in business performance and customer satisfaction.
Brings together staff of different disciplines and drives the group to plan, formulate and agree on comprehensive quality procedures
Develop and maintain business wide system to identify proper root cause and eliminate repeating issues
Ensure business processes are accurately mapped to define and illustrate current state processes.
Identify risks and opportunities associated with all business processes and develop appropriate mitigation strategies as needed.
Prepares productivity/quality reports for management.
Manages and maintains the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Effectively interacts with Production and Engineering teams to maintain product supply and introduction of new products.
Directs and coordinates the activities of team engaged in quality functions - including inspection, analysis and training.
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 8 years of overall experience with 5 years specifically in Project Management, Quality, or Operational Excellence within a manufacturing or industrial related environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
PMI Project Management of 6S Quality certification preferred
Significant knowledge of Operational Excellence practices, supply chain management and quality processes.
Fluent with ISO quality standards and models.
Technical aptitude, good understanding of hydraulic and electrical system design.
Good understanding of manufacturing engineering and assembly processes.
Strong Business acumen.
Good problem solving and analytical skills, high attention to detail.
Personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer focused.
