**Data Conversion Lead - Hybrid (Ottawa, ON)**
We are looking for a **Data Conversion Lead** to join our client’s team on a hybrid basis in Ottawa, ON. This is an **18-month contract** engagement. In this role, you will oversee and execute all data conversion activities involved in migrating from their current Human Capital Management System (HCMS) to Workday HCM. You will serve as the primary liaison between the organization and Workday’s Data Transformation Services (DTS), ensuring all data migration efforts are completed successfully within the defined timelines and budget.
**Qualifications**
- Over 10 years of experience in data management, data conversion, mapping, and transformation projects, preferably in the HR domain
- Experience with legacy and modern HCMS systems
- In-depth knowledge of the HR data domain
- Proficient in ETL tools
- Strong MS SQL scripting skills
- Solid understanding of data mapping, data management, transformation, and validation practices
- Strong hands-on technical skills in data extraction and validation
- Experience leading data initiatives in SaaS HCMS implementations such as Workday or Dayforce is highly desirable
- Familiarity with IBM Cognos Analytics is an asset
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and system integrators
- Must have or be eligible for **Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance**:
- Strong leadership capabilities combined with excellent communication skills
- Deliverable-focused and able to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution
**Responsibilities**
- Lead all data conversion efforts throughout the HCMS migration
- Own and manage the overall data migration scope, strategy, and execution plan
- Act as the single point of contact between the organization and Workday for all data conversion-related activities
- Extract legacy data from their current system using IBM Analytics and MS SQL, based on Workday specifications
- Validate data extracts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Drive data profiling, cleansing, and preparation to uphold data quality standards
- Collaborate with HR SMEs, process owners, and data stewards to define, enrich, and finalize data requirements
- Coordinate with internal Information Services and Enterprise Data Management teams to follow organizational standards and best practices
- Identify data-related risks and implement necessary controls and mitigation strategies
**Work Location**: Hybrid - Primarily remote, with occasional on-site presence required in Ottawa, ON
**Engagement Duration**: 18 months
