Gardenland Co-op is hiring a full-time **Assistant Bakery Manager/Baker**to support the operations of the bakery at the Morden Food Store. _(The Assistant Bakery Manager/Baker will perform the function of Baker for 80% of their shift, Assistant Manager 20% of their shift). _

**What you’ll do**:
Reporting to the Bakery Manager, the Assistant Bakery Manager/Baker is responsible for performing the baking duties _(preparing and baking a variety of product from scratch, following production schedules, meeting quality standards, packaging, merchandising and general housekeeping) _and supporting the Manager to execute the short-term strategies, goals and objectives for the department, in alignment with the retail strategic plan.

The Assistant Manager will assist in the day-to-day operations, including adherence to brand standards, Food Safe and merchandising standards, customer service standards, meeting established productivity standards, leading and directing staff, administrative duties, marketing efforts, image standards, safety and asset protection.

The Assistant Bakery Manager/Baker will live the Co-op Brand and strive to achieve and maintain positive and healthy relationships with co-workers and customers.

**Who you are**:
You are looking for a career in retail management and:

- Are driven to achieve results (financial, people, production, operations)
- Have proven ability to lead and build an effective team. Are experienced at fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all team members.
- Have well developed communication skills, with ability to consistently deliver on key messaging (written or verbal).
- Have intermediate or higher computer skills, with a strong understanding of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Are proficient and timely with administrative tasks.
- Can stand for extended periods of time and/or extensive walking, can lift up-to 50 lbs.
- Have 2 or more years experience in retail management, kitchen management or bakery experience. Experience preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual.
- Are committed to service excellence and food production quality
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and enjoy baking.Can follow recipes with accuracy to ensure standards and Food Safe procedures are met
