Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking individuals interested in the following position(s):

Position(s) Available: One (1)
Status: Full-Time (11-Month Term) Position (37.5 hours per week)
Salary Range: $55,935 - $61,742 annually
**_The key responsibilities of this position will include:_**
- Planning, managing and delivering after-school programming for Junior High school aged youth in grades 7-9 in the areas of academic support, physical activity, leadership, arts and culture, and health and nutrition.
- Providing support and programming to vulnerable youth, ensuring they are in a safe, constructive, satisfying environment for a positive impact.
- Providing support and programming to youth who have experienced challenges marginalization, addictions and circumstances that have required youth justice system involvement.
- Working in partnership with an assigned Junior High school overseeing key responsibilities, program outcomes for their students.
- Responsibility for a small staff team, providing direct supervision of staff and volunteers.
- Coordinating and providing leadership, direction and training to all staff and volunteers participating in the afterschool program ensuring their skills are used to support programming.
- Establishing and maintaining ongoing working relationships with all school personnel, ensuring they are informed of the responsibilities, opportunities and goals that pertain to the programs for their students.
- Collecting and submitting program data/information within a customized database for program evaluation and improvement.
- Providing a safe environment by ensuring adherences to workplace safety and health regulations and operating standards are upheld in all programs.
- Supporting staff in following all safety and cleaning protocols set out by AHS and the agency to safely run programming.
- University degree or college diploma in education, child and youth development, recreation or a related field.
- 2 years of previous supervisory experience and 5 years combined experience in a role involving child-based programming, childcare and partnership development.
- Solid knowledge of child development, out of school programming, strength-based practice and experience in a school and/or childcare setting is an asset.
- Proven ability to be approachable, understanding, organized and efficient with excellent problem-solving skills
- Experience in the delivery of community programs and extensive knowledge of community collaboration, community and educational resources and services.
- Experience working with Junior High School youth ages.
- An awareness and understanding of emerging issues facing families in Edmonton
- Ability to embrace and practice the agencies equity, diversity and inclusion philosophy and integrates this practice into their work and agency messaging.
- Can be counted on to meet and exceed goals and able to get positive results from others.
- Experience entering data into an electronic case management system and experience working with the MS suite of programs.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Availability to work 10:30 AM -6:30 PM Monday to Friday from September to June and shift to daytime hours during July and August for summer programming
