As we expand our operations, we are seeking an **IT Administrator / Network Administrator** to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational efficiency across all departments.
**Job Summary**:
The **IT Administrator / Network Administrator** is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software systems. This role ensures optimal system performance, security, and reliability to support greenhouse operations, automated systems, and business functions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including wired and wireless systems across greenhouse operations.
- Monitor and optimize network performance to support IoT-based greenhouse automation, environmental sensors, and climate control systems.
- Manage IT security, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and threat mitigation strategies.
- Administer cloud-based and on-premise servers, including backups, updates, and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Implement and manage IT policies, procedures, and best practices for data security and system integrity.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to support automation technologies, remote monitoring tools, and AI-driven analytics.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement of IT equipment and services.
- Maintain documentation for IT infrastructure, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and user guides.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in IT administration, network management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Experience with firewalls, routers, and switches (Cisco, Ubiquiti, or similar technologies).
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with IoT, SCADA systems, or automation technology in agricultural or industrial settings is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, technology-driven agricultural setting.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Azure Administrator.
- Experience working in an agricultural environment is a plus.
- Knowledge of greenhouse management software and precision agriculture technologies.

Pay: $22.00-$34.00 per hour
Flexible language requirement:

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Leamington, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
**Experience**:
