**Job purpose**

The Harm Reduction Educator is responsible for community and agency education on: Sexual Health & STBBI, HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis as they relate to substance use. Community and agency education consist of formal presentations, community engagements, awareness events, and informal conversations with clients, coworkers, and public.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Engage with community members within the Grande Prairie area regarding possible educational opportunities.
- Create and present educational resources, based in research, to community groups in an approachable and professional manner.
- Create appropriate presentations tailored to audience.
- Collaborate with Community STBBI Educator to ensure seamless provision of education services to community members.
- Creation of educational and engaging social media posts regarding STBBI, HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis as they relate to substance use.
- Help with community engagements, planning, awareness events, and committee work when appropriate.
- Help maintain office functionality by assisting with front desk/answering phones/greeting clients when needed.
- Use non-judgmental approach when engaging with clients and community.
- Research areas that would be helpful for our presentations as we engage with youth and community members, and
- Research and implement best practices as an educator.

**Qualifications**:
**Required Qualifications**
- Completion of post-secondary school or currently enrolled in social work, social services, or other relevant field.
- Experience in teaching/facilitation of small and large groups.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, Syphilis, and other STBBI.
- Valid Driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
