**1.0 Permanent Library Clerk (12 month position)**

**Effective January 2, 2026**

**Location: Classroom Support Centre West currently located at Nobel Public School (Serving the East and West Regions of the NNDSB)**

Reporting to the Supervisor of Classroom Support Centres and Library Services, the Library Clerk’s role is to assist with the efficient distribution and circulation of educational resources and equipment to schools. It involves selecting appropriate materials as per educator requests, coordinating advanced bookings and reservations, processing and maintenance of kits and materials, and assisting with resource displays for special Board events when required. The Library Clerk will incorporate the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion when making recommendations for new acquisitions to support system curriculum and resource needs. The Library Clerk plays a key role in bringing awareness to educators about the services and resources that are available to them at the CSC’s. This position requires a high level of organizational and time management skills to fill daily educator requests while meeting courier deadlines for distribution to schools.

A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license is required. Mileage will be paid for travel as per NNDSB Admin Guidelines for Travel, Meals and Hospitality Expenses.

**Skills Required**:

- Working knowledge of the NNDSB Library and Media Booking Systems
- Library technical skills including knowledge of Dewey decimal system
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral: the ability to communicate and work effectively with students and staff
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision
- Familiar with the Ontario Curriculum for grades K-12
- Ability to safely carry and lift boxes

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum Grade 12 education
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in an educational library environment

**Rate of pay**:$27.41 to $28.69 per hour**
