**Reports to**: Job Foreman / Superintendent

**Summary**

Various duties within an asphalt plant to ensure operations run safely and efficiently. Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shovelling, sweeping, performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance to keep the plant running. Assists Plant Foreman with daily operations and upkeep of the plant. Must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, walk, climb, or balance at heights up to 60 feet from ground level. Good communication (Verbal/Hand Signals) with ground personnel and equipment operators. Make sure you are competent and developing 360 Degree Awareness. Working around loud and noisy equipment. Working under adverse weather conditions. The Labourer will be required to operate a Skid Steer.

**Duties/Tasks**:

- Load, unload, and move construction materials around the worksite;
- Dig and fill holes where heavy equipment is not practical;
- Level asphalt to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel;
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites;
- Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed;
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor; and
- Raise manholes and water valves when required.

**Knowledge/Skills Required**:

- Experience and certification in operating a Skid Steer is considered a major asset.
- Must be able to perform heavy manual labouer under adverse weather conditions.
- Should be familiar with the materials, tools, and machinery used.
- Should have some experience as a general construction labourer.
- Should have some knowledge of the road construction industry.
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required.
