Electrical Trades Technician

Our team is looking for a temporay Electrical Trades Technician to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growth-oriented organization and to gain experience and an understanding of the energy sector.
Under the general direction of the Electrical Group Leader, or delegate, the Electrical Trades Technician will service and maintain electrical equipment in efficient operating condition.

**What you’ll be doing**:
- Ensure the safe operation of our processes (e_g._, generator units, water systems and dams, facility maintenance, _etc..._);
- Carry out a variety of duties such as performing preventative and predictive maintenance, breakdown repairs and analysis; as well as working on alternator groups, high tension equipment, measuring instruments, protection relays and communication equipment;
- Make electrical installations according to drawings, specifications and written or oral instructions and submit written reports on the status and condition of electrical equipment;
- Analyze, troubleshoot, dismantle, overhaul, align, assemble and adjust electrical systems in order to maintain it in efficient operating condition;
- Act as an operator’s switching agent if required and perform environmental management duties.
- Hold a valid electrical trades technician ticket (licensed Industrial Electrician, and/or licensed Power Maintenance Electrician). Red Seal certification is an asset;
- Electrical Technician Diploma or a minimum of five years of relevant experience maintaining electrical equipment;
- Experience in the hydroelectric power generation industry is an asset;
- Hold and maintain a valid Ontario Driver’s License and possess a level of physical and medical fitness necessary for the safe completion of the requirements of this position.
**What you must have**:
- Strong safety orientation, proficient in oral and written communication and able to work in a team environment;
- Excellent working knowledge of industrial safety regulations, procedures, rules and practices;
- Demonstrated recognition of the value of job planning and scheduling;
- Will be required to travel occasionally on company business in North America.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
**Salary**: $33.64 per hour
