Visitor Experience Agent

**The Role**

**The Visitor Experience Agent will ensure an exceptional experience for all guests while visiting the museum.**They will exemplify high standards of customer service and job efficiency in the galleries, in the public programs, at the ticketing desk, and in the giftshop. The Visitor Experience Agent will be outgoing and eager to talk with visitors about the exhibits and upcoming events. An interest in aviation and willingness to learn about the exhibits is desired. As a valued member of the Visitor Experience Team, the agent will support the museum's volunteers in keeping the visitors entertained within a safe environment. This position reports to the Manager of Visitor Experience and Gift Shop.

**Job Functions**
- Provide outstanding customer service to a diverse range of guests
- Provide support and/or direction to volunteers in their roles
- Participate in children's birthday party bookings
- Help create and execute special public events
- Welcome individuals and groups as they visit the museum and gift shop
- Sell admissions and annual passes at the ticketing desk
- Sell merchandise in the gift shop
- Communicate with visitors about the museum’s amenities, exhibits and events
- Learn about the exhibits and be prepared to answer basic questions from the public
- Engage with guests while attending to the interactive exhibits
- Actively support the safety plan of the museum
- Request visitors to abide by the museum’s rules, handle visitor complaints and de-escalate situations as needed
- Other duties as assigned & relevant to the role

**Qualifications**
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills with fluency in English
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- 1- 2 years of experience in a guest service, entertainment or museum role is preferred
- 1- 2 years experience with Point of Sale
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and within a team
- Takes great initiative and has the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Proven attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in transactions
- Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector search is required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada (RAMWC) is located on the James A. Richardson International Airport campus in Winnipeg. The Museum is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of aviation in Western Canada. The Museum showcases aircraft and many unique aviation artefacts from its collection, presented from a story-driven approach. Its mission is to entertain, educate and inspire visitors.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
