**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Food Supervisor and Manager of Patient Food Services, the Utility Worker performs basic, routine duties related to the assembly and service of food for patients and cafeteria clientele.
Responsibilities include:

- Delivering patient menus, trays and nourishments
- Communicating with supervisory staff and Dietitians regarding patient food preferences/intolerances/menu issues
- Operating and cleaning dishwasher, food slicer and other equipment as required within the department
- Washing dishes, and pots, pans as required
- Stocking pantry areas on nursing units with nourishments
- Performing extra cleaning within the department, stocks and cleans storeroom, refrigerators and other areas
- Portioning some menu items
- Performing other duties as required

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 required (Employees hired prior to September 2004 exempt)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting, bending, walking standing)
- Serv Safe Basic course, or willing to take upon hire
- Good attendance and work record
- Competencies in other languages an asset; French preferred

**Hours**:

- Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$19.16 - $19.92 Hourly
