Mold Set Up Technician

**JOB PURPOSE**:
Responsible for changing out and setting up injection moulds and associated equipment, ensuring all process parameters are set properly and parts meet specifications. Troubleshoot processes and equipment to maximize throughput, efficiency, and minimize system waste.

**DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform mould changes cell setups and maintenance as required
- Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment, monitor and inspect the quality of material produced
- Troubleshoot minor robotics problems and adjust programming as required
- Complete daily paperwork and record reasons for downtime
- Load materials into hoppers, bins, and dryers ad required
- Occasionally receive materials and allocate them to designated areas
- Preparing packaging including getting skids, boxes, bags, and returnable totes from both inside and outside locations
- Participate in continuous improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis
- Perform machine maintenance as required
- Adhere to all plant safety rules and policies, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or designee
- Promote MPC's core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-Secondary Education in Engineering or 5 years of experience in Set-Up/Process preferred
- Scientific moulding training preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of graph interpretation and in-cavity pressure sensing data
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment with minimum supervision
- Excellent problem solving and work planning ability
- Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and working conditions
- Available to rotate to afternoon shift for 1 week every 4 weeks
