Manager, Global Manufacturing Strategy

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations Finance & Strategy, GSM this role is responsible for supporting the development and deployment of the strategic direction of Apotex manufacturing and packaging facilities in support of overall corporate and GSM strategies.

This role will ensure ongoing facilitation of an end to end ‘Supply Point Selection’ process by taking a leading role in defining the business problem(s), developing evaluation frameworks, conducting thorough analysis and business case development to support supply point decisions, archiving decisions and conducting periodic business case reviews to validate assumptions/ benefits to the organization.

Working with different functional stakeholders within and outside the Global Supply & Manufacturing (GSM) organization, this role will assist in development and facilitation of long term asset capacity planning to ensure ‘right type and number’ of assets are deployed across Apotex’s global manufacturing and packaging facilities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as co-owner for the Supply Point Selection Process with the objective to ensure alignment of these decisions with the overall GSM strategic objectives
- Conduct detailed analysis and develop business case to support supply point decisions
- Archive decisions and conduct periodic business case reviews to validate assumptions/ benefits to the organization.
- Collaborate with various key site leaders and functional leads across the business to build complex analytical models and interpret vast amounts of data and synthesize insights that drive recommendations
- Lead the identification of future strategic capital investment needs
- Drive analysis of potential cap-ex evaluations, creation of sound business cases for new technology deployment and capacity expansions within the network
- Collaborate with Global Supply Planning team on long term capacity planning process for assets in the GTA sites, to enable balancing of future demand with capabilities
- Work with different functional stakeholders within and outside the GSM organization to balance load across production sites and achieve operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to develop actionable recommendations to the GSM and Global Generics leadership
- Develop decision statements for leadership reviews and, document and establish an archive of all decisions made
- Continuously identify opportunities for improvement of various critical Global Manufacturing processes; Take a leading role in working with various partners within the organization in deploying the same

**Job Requirements**:

- Education
- University degree in Engineering/ Business/ Science related field
- MBA degree from reputed universities/ schools considered an asset
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience with data mining and building complex analytical models to solve wide range of business problems
- Deep experience in building business cases and ability to articulate strategy to leadership and management at all levels
- Superior written and oral communication skills including ability to storyboard and succinctly articulate complex ideas, proposals and recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, with high level of comfort working on projects with ambiguity and limited direction
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including clear, succinct and timely communication and proven ability to foster positive relations with customers and key stakeholders
- Exhibited business acumen in understanding cross-functional processes and ability to think strategically vis-à-vis tactically
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems (e.g. SAP), organizations business processes is considered an asset
- Ability to be a self-starter, work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Good understanding of GMPs, SOPs, and relevant regulatory guidelines
- Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Operations within Pharmaceutical / CPG industry
- Experience in Management Consulting firm considered to be an asset
