Position Overview: As a general laborer at a landscape supply yard, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the yard. Your primary duties will include assisting customers, organizing and maintaining inventory, operating machinery, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance:
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide information about products, prices, and availability.
Assist customers with loading and unloading materials.
Address customer concerns and provide solutions or escalate issues when necessary.

Inventory Management:
Organize and maintain inventory in an orderly and accessible manner.
Receive incoming shipments, inspecting them for accuracy and quality.
Restock materials and arrange them in designated areas.
Perform regular inventory counts and record discrepancies.

Equipment Operation:
Operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and trucks.
Safely load and unload materials from trucks and assist in deliveries.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines when operating machinery.

Yard Maintenance:
Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Sweep, rake, and shovel as required to maintain a tidy workspace.
Dispose of waste and debris properly, adhering to environmental regulations.
Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs for the yard or equipment.

Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
Participate in safety training programs and promote a culture of safety awareness.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in the landscaping industry is preferred.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Basic knowledge of landscaping materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to operate machinery such as forklifts, loaders, and trucks (training may be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record keeping.
- Valid Full G Drivers License
