Jacobs is currently looking to hire an entry to intermediate Environmental Planner based out of the western Canadian offices (Calgary, Vancouver or Edmonton) to join our dynamic team. This position provides technical leadership and guidance to our multi-disciplinary (environment practitioners) teams during the design, construction and operations of infrastructure projects in western Canada relative to regulatory requirements, environmental due diligence and planning. **Here’s What You’ll Need**: - B.Sc. (required) or M.Sc. (preferred) in a Natural Resources related field (biology, ecology, forestry, or geography) - Related experience in the natural resources sector in Canada, preferably in BC and in a consulting environment. - Familiarity with environmental acts, such as the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, National Energy Board Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, and the Public Lands Act is considered an asset. - Experience seeing major projects from planning through construction considered an asset. - Strong technical writing skills is required. - Experience working on Provincially regulated projects in Alberta and British Columbia, including a strong understanding of permitting energy development projects regulated by the Alberta Energy Regulator, Alberta Environment and Parks, BC Oil and Gas Commission, and BC Environmental Assessment Office. Experience working on federally regulated energy projects in Western Canada, including experience working on projects regulated by the National Energy Board. - Construction based environmental monitoring experience is an asset.
