Fitness Instructor

**Part Time Fitness Instructor**
**Pay Range: $22.75 - $30.00 per hour (4 - 12 hours per week)
**Our Fitness Instructors are responsible for providing effective and safe quality programs and fitness
classes to members of the NexSource Recreation Centre. Classes may include but are not limited to:
Boot Camp, Cardio, Strength and Specialty Classes as well as opportunities for facilitating one on

**SUMMARY OF FUNCTION
Ensure safety for fitness patrons and staff by implementing and following facility policies.
Fitness program planning, implementation and evaluation, including, but not limited to,

develop lesson plans, development of session schedules, set-up and take down of fitness
equipment required for programs and class instruction.

Ensures fitness activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for the
quality management health and safety and general duty of care.

Ensure appropriate use of facility by patrons and guests and enforce facility guidelines
and rules.

Assess participant needs and provide adaptations as necessary.
Track participant attendance and outcome measures.

**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**

Completion of high school with specialized training in a related field
Designation as a fitness leader through AFLCA or other certifying bodies
Fitness theory and Group Exercise - required for Group Fitness Programs
Municipal fitness experience would be an asset
Current First Aid/CPR certification is required
Current RCMP Based Vulnerable Sector Check required
Exceptional customer service focus
Possess exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Able to work a flexible schedule as required
