**Position Summary**
As a **Senior Geophysical Project Manager** at Quantec Geoscience, you’ll oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of geophysical projects that are crucial to our clients’ success and our company’s growth. This position requires someone with the skills and experience to lead large-scale geophysical projects and the ambition to assume some leadership responsibilities within our Operations Department.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Strategic Project Planning and Coordination**:
- Develop and drive project strategies, timelines, and budgets in close partnership with clients, sales, other project managers, and senior leadership.
- Oversee project logistics, including equipment mobilization, fieldwork scheduling, and resource allocation, while anticipating future project demands.
- Collaborate with other project managers to allocate resources across multiple projects where necessary, identify and resolve any resource allocation discrepancies, and create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
- **Leadership and Team Development**:
- Lead and mentor a team of geophysical technicians and field managers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members, ensuring consistently high standards in data collection and reporting.
- **Project Oversight**:
- Supervise field operations, upholding excellence in safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communications plan.
- Maintain documentation of changes/ revisions and related issues or decisions.
- Lead the communication of information to all cross functional groups and stakeholders at critical points.
- Address and resolve any technical issues that may arise, demonstrating swift and effective decision-making.
- Coordinate with the Processing and Interpretation teams to ensure timely completion of accurate and reliable deliverables to clients.
- Conduct post-project internal reviews to identify areas for operational improvements and adjustments to future costings.
- **Client Engagement and Relationship Management**:
- Cultivate and nurture strong client relationships, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project objectives and customize geophysical solutions to meet their specific requirements.
- **Health & Safety Leadership**:
- Promote adherence to Quantec Safety Guidelines among field crew members.
- Collaborate closely with health & safety specialists to evolve safety procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations related to geophysical fieldwork.
**Qualifications**
- 5 years or more of experience in geophysical project management, with a proven ability to lead and deliver complex projects.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and the unique demands of geophysical fieldwork.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams.
